This portrait of a cougar was done in anticipation for a 5 piece series of oil paintings I am working on. I like how delicate the cougar's features are compared to some of the other giant cats. Cougars are native to the area where I live, though sightenings of them are fairly uncommon. Cougars are normally shy animals and are most active around dusk and at night.
