This 8 x 10 acrylic on stretched linen canvas painting was created in 2004. I was one of my first works with butterflies as the active subject matter. The paint was done on the petals in an impasto style--meaning it is quite thickly applied. The butterfly was done simply with a thinner paint, in order to show it's delicate nature.
